We are seeking a skilled Senior Commercial BI Analyst to join our team and contribute to the creation of a large-scale, multi-tenanted data solution. As a Senior Commercial BI Analyst you will be responsible for understanding customer needs and translating them into actionable insights through Power BI reports and dashboards. This role involves gathering business requirements, analysing data, and providing reports that help guide key business decisions.
What to expect
You responsibilities will include:
Report & Dashboard Development:
- Develop and design custom Power BI reports and dashboards from scratch for customers, ensuring both business and technical requirements are met.
- Create visually appealing, intuitive, and user-friendly reports that display complex data in a simplified and actionable format.
- Continuously optimise reports and dashboards for performance, ensuring scalability and a smooth user experience for customers.
- Regularly update and iterate on existing reports and dashboards based on customer feedback and evolving business needs.
Data Analysis & Insight Generation:
- Analyse customer business data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that drive business growth and improvement.
- Provide actionable insights through clear and concise data analysis that can be easily understood by non-technical stakeholders.
- Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that enable clients to make informed decisions based on real-time data.
Collaboration with Technical Teams:
- Work closely with BI Developers and other technical teams to ensure data pipelines, models, and reporting infrastructure are designed and optimised to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data across all customer reports, adhering to data governance and quality standards.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to build and maintain scalable and efficient data models for reporting.
Customer Engagement & Support:
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to customers to help them understand and utilize the reports and dashboards, ensuring they gain maximum value from the service.
- Regularly engage with customers to understand their evolving business needs and ensure reporting solutions are aligned with their goals.
- Work with customers to address any questions or issues related to reports, providing troubleshooting and advice on how to interpret data.
Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with customers to understand their business needs, KPIs, and reporting objectives, ensuring these requirements are well-defined and actionable.
- Lead internal discussions with product and technical teams to translate customer requirements into clear, actionable reporting solutions.
- Advise stakeholders on the most effective use of data visualisations to meet their business objectives and maximise the value of Power BI.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features, best practices, and emerging trends in data analysis to continually enhance service offerings.
- Work with the BI team to improve reporting infrastructure and optimise the overall customer reporting experience.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Timeliness and quality of reporting deliverables provided to customers.
- Customer satisfaction with BI solutions, including the usability and effectiveness of reports.
- Contribution to customers’ business growth through actionable insights and effective data visualisations.

About you
You are a data-driven professional with a strong passion for transforming raw data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making. With hands-on expertise in Power BI, you excel in creating visually intuitive dashboards and tailored reports that resonate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to analyze data, identify trends, and uncover growth opportunities is complemented by your knack for effectively communicating complex information in simple terms
Key Skills & Experience:
- Expertise in Power BI, including visualisations, report design, and dashboard development.
- Strong understanding of business processes, KPIs, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience with data analysis, identifying key trends, patterns, and growth opportunities.
- Ability to create compelling and visually intuitive reports and dashboards tailored to customer needs.
- Strong communication and customer engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex data in simple terms to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a SaaS environment, preferably with a focus on delivering managed reporting services to clients.
- Experience in SQL or other query languages for extracting and working with data.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes for data integration into Power BI.
- Experience with Power BI Embedded or other embedded analytics solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as Azure , AWS or Databricks
- Previous experience working with large datasets or in industries where data-driven decision-making is crucial (e.g., finance, marketing, retail).
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a commercial BI Analyst role, ideally in a SaaS or client-facing environment.
